Vlc Player For Mac Os X 10.6



Hello folks...

Rewritten video output core and modules, allowing blending in GPU. Shader support in the OpenGL output, for conversion, including 10bits. Debanding, grain, denoising and anti-flickering filters. Deinterlacing filter, including an Inverse Telecine algorithm. Resamplers for higher quality audio.


I have a strange problem that cropped up in the middle of a failed update on 10.6.8.

Apple quicktime player 7 for mac os x v10 6 free download - Apple Mac OS X Mavericks, Apple QuickTime Player 7, Apple Java for OS X 10.6, and many more programs.


I have always used VLC to stream audio off of the internet. Works excellently. However, I got a reminder to update in the last couple of weeks. I went ahead, it failed to download the update completely on the first try. I went ahead and checked again, redownloaded the update through VLC, installed, restarted VLC and now, all that will happen in VLC is a fatal loop condition, with nothing being able to be played, instead the player just keeps showing a track restart loop of several times per second (all of my streaming links work fine in RealPlayer and iTunes). I dragged it to the trash from Applications, reinstalled from a fresh download, same result.
I do not have a VLC listing in my preferences so I cannot seem to delete that. I thought that was odd, but I did double check the file location in the sticky, to no avail.
I've pasted the log file it generated below... Any advice out there?

VLC Media Player is available on several popular platforms. This free and awesome player is readily available for Apple computer users. The software is freely available for Mac OS X systems. Different versions of the player is required for a different Mac OS X version and the VideoLAN team has got it covered. Downloading for Mac

Basically, you download a dmg package for your Mac computers from the following page:

VLC for Mac OS X: 64 bit VLC dmg package download link which works for Mac OS X 10.6 and later.

32 bits Intel Mac: This dmg package is for 32 bit Intel Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard users.

PowerPC Mac: Dmg package for 32 bit PowerPC Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard users.

You will also see two web browser plugin download links. Those are for playing/streaming videos straight from your browser. The plugins are available for Intel Mac and Power Mac users. They require the OS X version to be 10.5 or lower.

Installing in Mac OS X

  1. Download VLC installation file from the location mentioned above (VideoLAN website).
  2. Locate the downloaded file which will be named something like vlc-2.1.0.dmg
  3. Open the file. After verifying the contents of the file, it will open.
  4. Click and drag the VLC icon to the applications folder. Release it.
  5. VLC will be copied to your applications folder.
  6. Double click on VLC media player (the icon with the cone). Provide it the permissions if your Mac computer asks for it.
  7. VLC Media Player will launch for the first time. Use it to play all your media with ease.
